Construction has officially begun on the David Crombie Park Revitalization Project, a redesign led by Arcadis and SLA – with Indigenous design elements guided by Tawaw Architecture Collective Inc. – that is set to renew nearly two hectares of community space in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood.
“Rather than reinventing the park, the revitalization builds on these patterns, reinforcing what already works while improving performance,” Neno Kovacevic, Practice Group Manager, Placemaking, Canada East, Arcadis, told UrbanToronto. “This approach also preserves the park’s ‘muscle memory,’ ensuring that long-time users continue to recognize and feel ownership over the space.”
