The Green Municipal Fund, a program by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, recently profiled CABN in their “Transforming Communities with Sustainable Affordable Housing” series.
Since its 2023 opening, CABN’s pilot showhome has transgressed into a broader social movement, engaging local leaders and developers to explore sustainable housing options for Canada’s future. Powered entirely by solar energy, the home operates with zero utility costs and consumes only 6,485 kWh annually – 63 percent less energy than a typical passive house.
