As a firm that values social impact, one of Montgomery Sisam Architects’ missions is to demonstrate that affordable housing can be more high-design, high quality and rapidly delivered.
Since the start of the pandemic Montgomery Sisam has been engaged by the City of Toronto, the Region of Durham and Hamilton to develop multiple different sites of modular housing, helping to relieve pressure on the shelter system and create safe, permanent housing solutions for marginalized residents.
As the company’s AOR, Idea Workshop has collaborated with the firm to help craft key messaging and secure media coverage that highlights MSA’s unique approach to modular supportive housing: creating designs that push the boundaries of what affordable housing typology typically looks like, while creating modular buildings which will all strive for a site-specific quality that resonates with their respective neighbourhoods.
As a result of our work, we have successfully secured multiple top tier stories about the firm’s modular housing projects including in mainstream, international design and local business and trade media (including Fast Company, Forbes and CityTV), as well as multiple speaking engagements for the firm’s Principals.
