As communities across Canada grapple with a deepening housing crisis, WZMH Architects is working with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 424 in Bala, ON, to explore how an underused Legion property could become part of the solution.
The Bala Legion Heritage Manor is a proposed mixed-use redevelopment, adding much-needed housing while preserving the vital community and veterans’ services these spaces provide. The proposal looks at building above or alongside existing halls, allowing branches to remain active while creating new homes on land that is already community-owned and centrally located.
