Amid shifting office and commercial real-estate dynamics, Toronto-based Beeches Development Inc. is repositioning a Leaside site as an 87,000-square-foot data centre just outside Toronto’s city centre.
“With the rapid rise of AI and data centres, a lot of developers are re-evaluating sites originally planned for residential or commercial use, now exploring their potential as data centre locations,” Zenon Radewych, principal at WZMH Architects, told the Globe and Mail.
The proposed seven-storey facility, designed by mcCallumSather, will provide robust and resilient infrastructure for cloud computing and data colocation, reflecting the growing technical demands of AI and digital services.
