Canadian Architect profiled the Poinciana Rehabilitation Centre (PRC), a newly completed mental health facility, designed by our client Montgomery Sisam Architects in association with DDL Studio.
The facility brings mental healthcare closer to home for citizens of the Cayman Islands; historically, Caymanians had to travel abroad for mental health care. The PRC closes this gap with a local therapeutic farm community offering peer support, vocational training, and holistic care.
Montgomery Sisam Architects and DDL Studio weaved Caymanian values into the facility’s design, which features local stone, vibrant colours, a strong connection to nature and cultural heritage.
